Communication from Rev. R. Anthony Miller (Co-Founder Director)
The charity began as a result of pleas to Revd.R. Anthony Miller of England from orphan students in Uganda. Soon found myself in contact with Mr. Fredrick Mutengesa, then Warden of St Andrews church Kabuusu, Rubaga, Kampala enabled verification of the need and safety channeling of funds. Fredrick is Director, SAAKOT UGANDA The contact is cemented by visits of Revd Miller to Kampala at his own expense.
Through the years of our dedicated service in helping these vulnerable children, we feel greatly honored to be part of a whole that has turned the lives of an otherwise would be hopeless children into meaning lives, full of hope and expectations.
Our current resources have allowed us to pay school fees, provide scholastic materials, food, clothings, mosquito nets, soap and other basic needs to 50 children. However, the influx of vulnerable children in need has become so overwhelming that there is an urgent need to devise a long term strategy to mitigate this vulnerability. If not catered for, these children are extremely vulnerable to abuse, trafficking, and neglect.
We pay tribute to those people who have contributed generously to the existence of this charity. Indebtedness goes to all stakeholders who include; Committee members in UK and our fellow Directors in Uganda.
Special thanks go to the friends for all donations and gifts for the invaluable help that has been extended to us.
Thank you.
